First and foremost, I wish to sincerely thank our donors who have supported Hebron Medical Center’s work for the past 16 years. Although we were confronted with many challenges in 2023, we also achieved meaningful progress, thanks to your generous support and contribution.

Today, WITHHEBRON and Hebron Medical Center are at a critical juncture. We have focused on qualitative growth for the last five years, and our primary goal going forward is to further develop professional competency in local healthcare workers and grow into a more sustainable organization.

This will not be an easy feat. Conducting effective capacity-building, bolstering healthcare leadership and meeting Cambodia’s growing needs and expectations while maintaining our organizational identity will be possible only if we work towards these objectives together.

As you have been our most trusted companion on this journey, I hope you will continue to walk alongside us and help us remain steadfast in our mission.

Dr. Woojung Kim Country Director of Hebron Medical Center

Cambodia is currently tackling healthcare-related challenges, such as limited access to medical treatment and technical difficulties in pediatric heart surgery. This is precisely why WITHHEBRON and its programs have been immensely meaningful for marginalized patients in Cambodia. Through WITHHEBRON, patients are given the opportunity to receive surgical treatment from Korean doctors who utilize advanced technology, and also get post- surgical care until they are fully recovered. These doctors are giving a new gift of life to Cambodian children, who will grow up to be the future of our country. I am very thankful to WITHHEBRON for its selfless commitment to human life, and will continue to be an active supporter of its cause. Her Excellency Chring Botumrangsay Cambodian Ambassador to Korea

Capacity-Building for Employees

Primary Care Residency Training

Global Training for Hebron Staff

Most residency programs in Cambodia are completed by only a handful of medical school graduates with financial means. To address this issue, Hebron's residency program was established to expand educational opportunities through financial support for future Cambodian physicians.

Our team members participate in training programs in Korea to learn in-depth about systematic hospital management. These programs enhance job performance and enable the staff to carry out administrative tasks at our center more efficiently.

Capacity Development

KOICA's Infection Prevention and Control(IPC) Capacity Strengthening Project

Since 2021, WITHHEBRON, Hebron Medical Center and KOICA have collaborated on a joint program designed to train healthcare personnel in Cambodia's Kampong Tralach region working at local hospitals and community health centers on infectious disease prevention and response. Last year's program highlighted the importance of countering misinformation during infectious disease outbreaks by simulating real-life scenarios to identify false rumors, assess credibility, and communicate fact- based information.

Wooyang Foundation's Health Care Support Program

Externally Funded Projects

To create a safe and sanitary environment for mothers and newborn babies, WITHHEBRON and Wooyang Foundation donated delivery beds and kits to 11 health centers in Kampong Tralach. We hope our donations will strengthen community-level maternal health services in this region and ensure every woman receives quality care during delivery.

•Program expenditures $3791.24 •Beneficiary health center

Construction of WASH(Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) facilities

In cooperation with Kampong Tralach's health authorities, we assisted regional hospitals in expanding their WASH facilities, enabling greater access to safe and sanitary spaces.

Project Preliminary Research into Laos

Our key objective is to promote health in marginalized groups across Asia and help build a self-sufficient local healthcare system. We visited Laos in 2023 to meet with the President of the National Assembly and Vice Chair of the National Development Committee, and are currently reviewing the possibility of expanding our services to Laos and prospects for future cooperation.

Externally Funded Projects

Participating in WITHHEBRON and KOICA's Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Capacity Strengthening Project was helpful, especially because it took place when COVID-19 and monkeypox were sparking conversations on this very issue. Classes on measures for preventing transmission, responding to outbreaks, and engaging in effective risk communication were very befitting for our current situation. Diverse forms of training, such as simulation exercises and workshops, and educational materials were also provided. I think it was particularly meaningful for our community health center workers, since they have not had many chances to partake in such programs. I would like to say thank you to WITHHEBRON for giving practical help to our healthcare personnel and hope we could meet for another productive session on noncommunicable diseases.

One of WITHHEBRON's core programs is the Care After Program (CAP) for Cambodian children with congenital heart disease. In addition to providing life-saving surgery to the children in CAP, we also support full post-surgical recovery through ‘comprehensive medical care’ by helping promote physical, mental and social well-being in CAP children and their families.

Living Support

We conduct visits to households with young children to check on their overall well-being and nutrition, and also supply groceries, essential goods and financial support. By speaking with the child's primary caregiver, we assess the development of each child and if necessary, connect them with a healthcare professional for 1:1 counseling.

Hello, I am Ork Rotha. I am back home in Cambodia after receiving heart surgery in Korea. I can now help with household chores and ride a bicycle, which I've always wanted to do. I also used to miss a lot of classes because I was sick, but I am back in school and studying hard as a third grader. I can read Khmer and do addition and subtraction. I want to thank everyone for helping me get surgery and making sure I stay healthy. Ork Rotha, CAP
