During this time, we have seen a steady increase in those suﬀering from dementia in Gangwon. With the increase of people with dementia, many suggestions are being made nationally to help resolve this situa- tion, but we are still facing troubles improving societal aware- ness towards dementia. Within this social trend, the Center for Dementia of Gangwon State and the Center for Dementia Relief (치매안심센터) have been trying to improve the negative social perception of demen- tia and making a “Dementia Relief Society” (치매안심사회) in which the people with dementia and their family may live happi- ly within their local community. Even so, many are not receiving the appropriate care that they deserve due to remnant societal hostility towards people with dementia.
